Residential Testing
- Annual test for your backflow assembly
- Report filed with your water district
- Homes, HOAs, landscape irrigation lines
Annual test, report filed with your water district, and reminders every year so you never miss a deadline.

Most of our customers come to us because their water district sent them an annual test notice with a hard deadline. We handle it end-to-end: the test itself, any repairs if the device fails, and filing the certified test report form with the agency that sent you the notice.
We regularly file reports with:
…or whichever agency issued your notice.
Three steps, start to finish.
Call, email, or send a scheduling request. We reply with available appointment dates that work for you.
A certified tester arrives on your scheduled date and performs the test on-site.
We submit the certified test report form directly to your water district and send you a copy along with the invoice.
Once you’re onboarded, we keep you compliant year after year — no more forgotten deadlines.
Your property info and device details are stored in our cloud-based system so we can serve you faster each year.
We track your annual testing due date against your local Authority Having Jurisdiction (AHJ).
We send you a reminder before your next test is due, so you're never caught off guard by a district notice.

“I had a great experience with City Certified Backflow Prevention, Inc.. Their pricing was very reasonable and competitive, which I really appreciated. It's not always easy to find quality service at a good price, but they definitely delivered both. The customer service was excellent from start to finish. They were friendly, professional, and easy to communicate with. The whole process was smooth and stress-free. I highly recommend City Certified Backflow Prevention, Inc. if you're looking for reliable service, fair pricing, and great customer care!”
“We were in trouble with the city because our previous backflow company billed us for work that they did not do and tags that they did not place. This was not the first problem we have had with a backflow company and have changed companies several times over the years. We did not know there was a problem this year until we were contacted by the city. We called City Certified after reading many positive reviews. Neddy and Jesse have been great! They responded right away and got the work done quickly and at a very good price. They communicated with the city at every step to let them know that the problem was being addressed. This communication was appreciated, both by us and the city employees. I will be using this company from now on! Thank you Neddy and Jesse.”
“We contacted City Certified for a last minute inspection and they were able to fit us into their schedule. Since then, we've only worked with this team. They always exceed our expectations making sure to properly communicate, getting all of their work done, and going above and beyond in everything they do! Reports/results and invoices are always sent over promptly. I couldn't be happier with the service this company provides, especially for the great pricing they provide it at! Highly recommend working with Neddy, Jesse, and the City Certified team for all backflow needs!”

Almost every water district in California requires an annual test on every backflow prevention assembly. Once your device is registered with a city, county, or water authority, you'll receive an annual notice requiring testing — we handle the test, any needed repairs, and file the paperwork on your behalf.
Missed deadlines typically result in fines or, in many districts, water shut-off until the test is filed. If you've just received a notice — or already missed the date — call us and we'll respond with available appointment dates to get you back into compliance.
Yes — filing is included. We submit the certified test report form directly to your water district through whichever method the jurisdiction requires (online portal, email, or mail), and we send you a copy along with the invoice.
If the device doesn't pass inspection, we'll notify you immediately, explain the issue clearly, and recommend the appropriate repair or replacement. We'll also schedule a return visit to complete the work and bring the system back into compliance. We avoid doing work without your approval.
Contact us by phone, email, or the scheduling form — we respond with available appointment dates. Because our routing is dynamic, we typically schedule by date rather than exact time windows. When we arrive, your choice: text notification on arrival, a knock on the door, or no notification at all. See our full scheduling and testing process at /how-it-works/.
Yes — residential homes, HOAs, commercial properties, restaurants, medical facilities, and industrial sites. Whatever the device and wherever it is, we test it.
RP (Reduced Pressure) assemblies are required for higher-hazard installations (irrigation with fertilizer injection, fire lines with additives, industrial process water). DC (Double Check) assemblies are for lower-hazard setups. Both must be tested annually.
