Real commercial assemblies we service: RP, DCVA, PVB, and SVB installations on fire lines, irrigation, process water, and cooling make-up across California.
What we handle for commercial accounts
Every commercial property on California public water owns the annual backflow test on its premises. The degree of hazard dictates whether the required device is a Reduced Pressure Assembly (RP), a Double Check Valve Assembly (DCVA), or a vacuum breaker; the test cadence is annual regardless.
We test fire services, irrigation services, process-water lines, cooling-tower make-up, boiler feed, chemigation setups, food-grade CIP loops, and dialysis / lab isolation assemblies. We carry both a potable test gauge and a reclaimed water test gauge.
Who we work with
Property Managers & HOAs
Single-point-of-contact scheduling across every unit or property in your portfolio. We file each device under the correct district and deliver consolidated reports.
Restaurants & Food Service
Restaurant premises are high-hazard under CCCPH. We test RP assemblies on carbonation, booster pumps, and commercial dishwashing lines with momentary water shut-off.
Medical & Dental
Hospitals, clinics, dialysis centers, dental offices, and veterinary practices. High-hazard isolation on every chair, sterilizer, boiler loop, and fire service.
Industrial & Manufacturing
Process-water RP assemblies, cooling-tower make-up, boiler feed, chemigation. We route gauge-certification and documentation to match OSHA and internal-EHS audit needs.
Wineries, Breweries, Food Processing
CIP caustic / acid loops and glycol-chilled tanks are textbook high-hazard. We know the winery corridor from the Lodi AVA through Napa and Monterey.
Fire-Sprinkler Contractors
We coordinate post-install acceptance testing and recurring annual service with your fire-sprinkler scheduling so the building AHJ gets one clean paper trail.
Schools & Institutional
K-12, community colleges, universities, and government facilities. Multi-meter campuses with mixed irrigation, lab, and fire services; we file each device correctly.
Data Centers & Tech Campuses
Cooling-tower make-up is a classic high-hazard cross-connection. We service Silicon Valley data halls, Sacramento-area colos, and Bay Area tech campus irrigation.
Retail & Hospitality
Hotels, shopping centers, car washes, gyms, and theaters. RP on pool fill and spa booster pumps, DCVA on fire and irrigation meters.

How it works
- 1
Onboard
Send us the notice received from your water purveyor. We confirm the purveyor, device inventory, and anniversary date for each site.
- 2
Route and schedule
We route multi-site work efficiently and coordinate with on-site engineering, property managers, or facility teams as needed. Same-week booking is typical.
- 3
On-site testing (10–20 min per device)
Our AWWA-certified tester performs the certified test, records gauge readings, and photographs each device for your records if requested.
- 4
If any device fails
We’ll let you know the failure and give the best options moving forward to repair or replace the device depending on the age and conditions of your system.
- 5
File and report
We submit each report through the correct utility channel and send you a portfolio summary.
- 6
Annual cycle
We track every device's anniversary and reach out ahead of time so your portfolio stays 100% compliant year over year.
California and federal compliance context
“On December 19, 2023, the State Water Resources Control Board adopted the Cross-Connection Control Policy Handbook (CCCPH) with an effective date of July 1, 2024.”
Commercial cross-connection rules flow from CA Health & Safety Code § 116800, the CCCPH, AWWA M14, the USC FCCCHR Manual, and the EPA Cross-Connection Control Manual.
Frequently asked questions
Do you handle multi-site property portfolios?
Yes. Property managers, franchises, and HOAs are a core part of our book. We route multi-site testing on a single schedule, file each device under the correct district, and invoice as one line per property or as a consolidated package, whichever you prefer.
What types of commercial facilities do you service?
Restaurants, grocery, medical and dental offices, hospitals, dialysis clinics, car washes, auto shops, breweries and wineries, food processing plants, cold-storage warehouses, data center cooling-tower make-up lines, schools, churches, industrial process-water systems, fire-sprinkler services, and irrigated landscape accounts. If it has a backflow preventer on a public-water connection, we test it.
How often is commercial backflow testing required?
Every California water purveyor requires an annual test, aligned with the SWRCB Cross-Connection Control Policy Handbook (effective July 1, 2024). Some high-hazard commercial installations require more frequent testing per purveyor discretion. We handle the cadence for you.
What happens if a commercial device fails the test?
We explain the failure on site, quote the repair (rubber kit, check valve, relief valve, or partial rebuild) or replacement, and schedule the return visit. Under district ordinances, uncorrected failures can result in water service shut-off, so turnaround matters.
Do you test on nights or weekends to avoid business disruption?
Yes, when required. Most commercial devices test in 10 to 20 minutes with momentary water shut-off. For sensitive sites (restaurants in service hours, medical clinics, data halls) we schedule off-hours or coordinate with on-site engineering to minimize disruption.
Do you file the test report with the water district?
Yes. Filing is included. We submit the certified test report form directly to your purveyor within 24 hours using their required channel (email, SwiftComply, BSI Online, Aqua Backflow portal, KloudGin, TrackMyBackflow, Tokay Web Test, dublin.tokaytest.com, or paper) and email you a copy with the invoice.
Can you handle annual compliance for a portfolio of commercial properties?
Yes. We track anniversaries, coordinate multi-site routing, file reports through each utility, and send portfolio-wide renewal reminders ahead of each district's deadline. Dedicated property-manager point of contact available.
